Parent Teacher Association
Cedar has a very active PTA that aims to provide various social activities for the parents, teachers and children while at the same time raising funds for equipment and resources that the school may not otherwise be able to support.
The PTA is made up of parents, teaching staff and an elected committee who organize such events and initiatives in order to raise funds to benefit all children attending the school, and build and maintain a fun and active social community within our school.
In recent years, the PTA funds have gone towards things like the rehousing of the AC units, library improvements, Kool Kubes, pallet furniture, cameras for student and teachers use in class, a new printer, teachers fridge, kettle, toaster, fabric for school productions and the new shaded area in the playground aka the ‘PTA Pavillion’, to name but a few.
Popular Events to look out for :
New Family & Teacher Welcome Days, School Discos, Bingo Nights, Halloween Party, Season’s Greetings, Beach Olympics, Book Fairs, Sports Day BBQ’s, Car Boot Sales & Coffee Morning Bake Sales.
None of these events would take place without the invaluable time & effort of our parent volunteers. We would welcome anyone to join us, in any capacity, every little helps! Whether it be helping stick glitter on palm trees, baking a few cupcakes, turning a few hot dogs on the BBQ or running an event. Many of the events require heavy lifting so we would love to have more dads join us too! We are always open to new, fun ideas to build the school community & look forward to hearing from you. Remember, all parents are automatically members of the PTA.
Equally, if you would like to come and join the PTA committee and have fun, whilst getting involved in the life of the school, please do let us know on email@example.com
