We are very pleased to report that 85% of Cedar International School staff have now received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 75% are fully immunised with two doses.  We are delighted that so many of our staff members have come forward to be vaccinated, protecting themselves and each other, and making our school community safer for everybody.

We are extremely grateful to Nurse Bedeau and the team from the BVIHSA for agreeing to administer vaccines on the school campus, allowing a large number of staff to get vaccinated whilst causing minimal disruption to the school day for students.

This is a great step forward for the protection of the health of our staff, students and the wider BVI community as we all play our part in overcoming the pandemic.

Scott Crawford, Cedar’s Director said ‘ We feel very privileged to be able to obtain such high levels of protection when so many around the world are yet to be offered a vaccine. It is reassuring, though perhaps unsurprising, that our staff jumped at the chance to get vaccinated when offered. As students do not yet have the ability to get vaccinated, we as staff have a particular duty of care to do all we can to protect them.’

Crawford noted that Cedar’s goal is a 100% vaccination rate for staff, and efforts would continue to be made to close the gap in the weeks ahead.
