Dear <<first>>

In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, your contribution helped keep Cedar International School’s doors open, enabling us to continue to serve the children of the BVI community at a critical point in time. We were very grateful to be able to play such an important role in the recovery, but there is still much work to be done. As you may be aware, the school pitch was badly damaged during the hurricanes of 2017. While great efforts have been made to keep it going, it is in need of replacement in the near future.

The pitch is a central part of Cedar’s curriculum and programmes, from PE classes, to after school clubs like gymnastics, football and cricket and is one of our most important resources for promoting healthy, active, balanced lifestyles for our students. It also benefits the wider community, being the venue for free Saturday morning football coaching which is open to all schools as well as community soccer groups and the VI National Football team who use the pitch in the evenings and on weekends.

As it is such a central part of school life, it is important that we replace the pitch in a way that will last well into the future. The costs in doing so are significant as they include the removal and disposal of the existing turf, levelling and groundwork to ensure proper drainage, and the installation of new high grade astro turf and improved lighting. Current estimates are in excess of $250,000.

To help us achieve our fundraising goal we are launching the ‘Pitch in’ campaign. Alongside the Cedar pitch you will see a large board representing the layout of the pitch. Each square on the board represents $200 towards the replacement pitch. We invite you to sponsor a square, or multiple squares, (or even part of a square (share a square)). Squares at $200 or above can display your name or logo. Premium areas of the pitch are also available for corporate sponsorship, so if your business or place of work would like to be recognised for contributing towards this exciting project, there are opportunities to do so by sponsoring a goal area ($5000), a penalty area ($20,000) or the centre circle ($15,000).

We hope you will pitch in and help us achieve our goal of replacing the Cedar pitch for our current and future students, and for the community as a whole.

Thank you!
